Remote Control and Semi-Autonomous Technology for Your Jobsite

Cat Command for construction allows operators to run Cat equipment from outside the cab. Whether you’re working on an unstable slope, operating near a demolition zone or handling hazardous materials, Cat Command puts the operator in a safe, controlled environment while maintaining the same precision and machine response they’d have from inside the cab.

Two core capabilities define the system. The first is remote control operation — real-time, direct control of a Cat remote control dozer, excavator or wheel loader from a safe distance, with the same feel and responsiveness as traditional operation. The second is semi-autonomous compaction control, which automates soil compaction passes to deliver consistent, repeatable results regardless of operator experience.

What sets Cat Command apart from aftermarket alternatives is its deep factory integration. The system is fully embedded in the machine’s electronic and hydraulic systems, giving remote operators access to the same advanced technologies they rely on in the cab — including Grade Assist, Swing Assist and E-Fence. Compatible equipment includes Cat dozers, soil compactors and a remote control excavator system available on many models.

Cat Command Advantages for Construction Crews

Choosing to use semi-autonomous construction equipment like Cat Command delivers real, measurable advantages for California construction teams. Safety comes first. Removing operators from hazardous conditions, including unstable ground, post-blast debris, dust and vibration, reduces the risk of jobsite injuries.

Productivity also remains on pace because operations can restart sooner after a disruptive event, like blasting or exposure to hazardous materials.

The ability to control construction equipment remotely also speaks directly to a challenge many California contractors know well: doing more with the workforce you have. Rather than requiring one dedicated operator per machine at all times, a single experienced operator can manage multiple machines from a Command Station.
